Beer Geeks TV Show

I was recently contacted by the producers of the Beer Geeks, an Emmy-nominated show dedicated to craft beer, about their efforts to film a second season of their show. To be honest, I hadn’t even heard of the first season but a little online research yielded some interest. On the show, host Michael Ferguson visits various breweries to talk and taste beer plus explore cooking with beer. Overall, it looks like a pretty decent program if you’re into learning about different craft breweries but I haven’t watched an actual episode yet.

It is aired on a number of broadcast stations around the country but sadly hasn’t made it to the Cincinnati market on any major networks. However, I did find that DirecTV has a couple of episodes available on-demand plus you can find it on the America One network which is part of something called WKRP TV (seriously). The next airing is Thursday, 5/27 at 11 and 11:30PM and the channel can be accessed these ways:

  • over-the-air digital channel 25.2
  • Cincinnati Bell FiOptics Ch. 293
  • Aereo app on your PC, mobile device, AirPlay, and Roku ($8/month)

At this point, they are looking to shoot a second season and have started a Kickstarter campaign to raise $30,000 for production.  Local #CincyBeerBlogger Beer Mumbo has been in contact with the producer campaigning for them to spend time shooting in Cincinnati at our great breweries – keep your fingers crossed!

Anyhow, I thought I would pass along the info in case you might be interested in learning more or possibly backing the campaign.
