Braxton Brewing Welcomes Your Ownership

Covington’s soon to launch Braxton Brewing Company held a press event yesterday to discuss some additional details about their operation, including the ability for any local beer fan to become an influential owner. Part of their mission is to be as inclusive as possible with their fans.  Beginning September 30th, you can have a stake in shaping the future of this brewery.

It’s not the first time you’ve seen a brewery or some sort of beer related gadget use crowd-funding to support their endeavor. However, they take a different approach in that funding is in place for the nuts and bolts brewing operation. This isn’t intended to be a money grab but rather a way to connect with fans to build something that something meaningful for supporters. Braxton intends to use the funds to build out what they consider to be the taproom of the future. Below are some of the differentiators for their taproom experience.

  • The first microbrewery in the U.S. with Gigabit Internet – Gig up and gig down … speeds that are likely better than most people’s offices.
  • Because of these speeds, the tap room will serve as a multi-functional co-working space for entrepreneurs or people working outside of a traditional office.  Spend your morning at Starbucks and afternoon at Braxton!
  • Pegas Growler filler able to fill from their 20 different taps.
  • Fully custom mobile app that “redefines” how you interact in a tap room — including Apple Pay (NOW you have a reason to get the iPhone 6…). This continues to be held pretty closely but I’ll work on getting more details.
  • Private events space with eight metered taps (similar to Moerlein Lager House) to ensure the beers flow for your work outing or fantasy draft.

Additionally, Kickstarter backers will have the opportunity to become influential owners who are invited to private meetings to vote on seasonal beers, first access to limited bottle or draft releases, VIP access at Braxton events, a Braxton Teku glass, and – of course – a t-shirt. Funding levels will start at just $10 so there is room for any budget.  Sign up for their email newsletter to keep in the loop on this project.

I had family commitments and couldn’t make it to the event but below is a TON of great information about how this brewery is shaping up from fellow #CincyBeerBlogger Jesse Folk from talks about the brewery operation and first beers.
