Cincinnati beer nerds minds blown by tasting event [updated]

Mayday Northside Craft Beer Tasting Contest

So the fellas over at Queen City Drinks just posted details on a mind blowing craft beer tasting event officially dubbed as a contest. I’m not completely clear on the contest but it sounds like a blind taste test may be in store. The beer list reads like a Beer Advocate or Rate Beer hall of fame and has a lineup of beers not distributed (hell some can’t legally be sold) in Ohio. Seriously, it’s pretty remarkable and any real beer nerd would love to have half of the stash sitting in their fridge and/or cellar.

I have this marked on my calendar and a sitter lined up for the kids. This is one event NOT to be missed – assuming this all comes to fruition. Part of me is cautiously optimistic. The other part is beyond geeked. Here are the details and my commentary on the beer lineup….

UPDATED 12/3/2012

Attend at your own risk. It appears the list was a bit overstated. Too good to be true, I suppose. Lesson learned!
