EXCLUSIVE: New Brewery Launching in Covington – Braxton Brewing Company
The theme of a connection is ever present which is why they plan to have a very open floor plan between the brewery and taproom (much like MadTree and Rhinegeist). There will be a long standard bar with an adjacent cooler to supply twenty taps (including some nitro lines!) and plenty of other seating throughout.
There are plans for a number of different games to keep you entertained as well as plenty of technology and screens to keep your attention. It also features a “garage” in the middle of the space that can be opened and closed as needed (i.e. for a private meeting) but when open has a direct path back to the brewhouse. Just like their homebrewing roots, you can see the magic being made through the garage door. Quick side note, they plan to share recipe information for homebrewers! Check out other breweries that share.
Again, with that garage theme, there will be a large retractable door along the brewery’s western wall that can open up to the concert and food space next door to allow in fresh air and sound – plus, let the beer flow out. The front of the building has nearly floor-to-ceiling windows to flood the space with natural light. Out front there is a wide sidewalk that will house tables and chairs when the weather permits.
It’s a little difficult to imagine the final product at this stage since it is currently used as an art gallery but I’m told to expect a “modern rustic” theme (with some chuckles… I sense some friendly differences of opinion within the group). However, I think it’s safe to say it will look quite a bit different than it does currently. I took a number of pictures of the interior and exterior to give you a rough idea (see below).
I was initially excited to hear Richard was returning to his brewing roots in Cincinnati and starting a new venture. However, I’m now more excited by the Rouse boys joining forces with Richard to elevate an already great vision. They are shooting to open before the end of the year, so make sure you follow their social media channels as they have some fun things in store for their fans (see Tweet below for a taste).
