Triple Digit and Stagnaro Part Ways
I have some break-up news to share on Valentine’s Day. Triple Digit and Stagnaro have mutually agreed to end their relationship. After initially self-distributing, Triple Digit partnered with Stagnaro to distribute their beers in the local market. Now Triple Digit must decide whether or not they want to go back to self-distribution or sign with a different distributor. That decision has not been made yet.
Triple Digit was one of the first local breweries to sign with Stagnaro, alongside Rivertown Brewing. Currently, Stagnaro distributes for Blank Slate, Rivertown, and will be managing Braxton Brewing once they begin brewing (which should be very soon).
Uncoupling the brewery and distributor relationship can be difficult but it seems both parties felt they were better off going in different directions. Check out Queen City Drink’s post on the three-tier system to get a better understanding of the role distributors play.
Personally, I found it challenging to find Triple Digit beers at times. I’m guessing part of it is due to limited production and part of it is not getting attention from the distributor to push it out to retailers. I have nothing to substantiate this – just my opinion.
At any rate, I hope this doesn’t interrupt Listermann’s plans and of course you can always stop at their taproom to pick up their beers. I’m also looking forward to Stagnaro continuing their efforts with Rivertown, Blank Slate, and Braxton. Blank Slate is getting closer to packaging their beers which makes me very, very happy!
CORRECTION: I originally published that Listermann was also distributed by Stagnaro. However, only the Triple Digit brand was distributed by Stagnaro.
